Beauty and the Beast

I'm currently watching the new Beauty and the Beast show from CW (on cwtv.com)

Less than 10 minutes in, I have an issue:

That is our beauty and our beast. Now, I'm not going to argue that Kristen Kreuk isn't pretty - she is. What I want to know is why a scar makes a guy a beast. He's kinda gorgeous, with or without the scar.

Hunger Games

So I finally watched the Hunger Games movie, and overall, I enjoyed it.

Rue killed me just as much as I expected.

I liked Peeta more than I expected to. Sadly, I liked Cinna less.

The cinematography, however, made me think of the Twilight movies, and that kinda spoiled it a bit for me, sadly....

Crafting Goodness!

Sadly, I didn't take a picture of this, but I finally finished the scarf I made for Connie - shadow rib in something like Homespun (though I don't remember exactly what it was - I am a terrible crafter!). I really like the shadow rib (row 1, knit, row 2, purl 2 knit 1 purl 2) - it's understated, with just enough of a pattern to make it interesting, without overrunning the pattern and color of the yarn. And the fringe at the ends makes it fun :)

Next on my list, to finish the needlepoint Christmas moose for Jane - I am hoping to actually get it done by Christmas this year. Seeing as I have had it for over 2 years now........

This time, I will remember to take a picture when done!!

Where did this fic go!??!?!?

Okay, I've been trying to find this Harry/Draco fic for ages. I cannot remember the name. Or the author. Or where I found it. I remember reading it years ago now, but it seems to have disappeared. Sadness! If you know anything about it (like, where I can find it?), let me know!

Basically, Draco is jealous of Harry. Big surprise, right? He found some ritual or potion (or combination of the two) that is supposed to make him invisible at will. Kinda his counter to Harry's invisibility cloak. Unfortunately, something goes wrong, and he ends up with some sort of love potion? Or obsession potion? I don't remember what it is. But, of course, he becomes obsessed with Harry (because what else would happen, right?).

I remember at one point that Draco found a way to reverse the death curse, but by doing so, the spell caster gives of their own life force. Harry sees Draco doing it and gets upset, telling him to not do it again.

Not a lot to go on, right?

Wow, well, if you can't tell, I had completely forgotten that this exists....

Well, with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) coming up, I need to get back into writing. Hopefully, I will start adding my own stories (both fic and excerpts from my NaNo novel). I know you are so excited. I've been so insane with trying to finish my Masters (done! yay!) while working full time and trying to keep something that resembles a social life,so I kinda disappeared. For a while.

But I'm back! Yay! I am sure there are, like, all of 2 people rejoicing with me, but whatever. I'm writing for me. And for those two people. Thanks, guys!

I've been reading a lot of stuff on Twisting the Hellmouth recently, and have to share one fic in particular. While I am normally a huge and enormous Spike/Xander shipper, I love this fic. Basically, Xander wakes up hungover in Vegas. With a girl. Who he doesn't know. And apparently has married. Oh, and her name? Zoey Bartlett. Daughter of president Josiah Bartlett. Well, crap.

I love it. It only has three chapters so far, but how wonderful they are! And I have to admit to be extraordinarily fond of West Wing, which is the crossover element, and Martin Sheen as President Bartlett. I feel like Methos has managed to keep the voices of all the characters in both shows true to life. Or fiction. Or whatever. I love love love it. I cannot wait for the next update.

I'm not always the biggest fan of Harry and Draco together, but there are a few fic that I read. And reread. And then rereread...if that is a word. Anyways.

Sequel to Bowl of Oranges. Spike doesn't know why he bothers with Xander, but in the end, all he wants is someone to need him.

Candy Floss
Sequel to Milkshakes and Honey. It's just a rainy Sunday, and the boys have nothing to do. Spike, being bored, tells Xander to entertain him. Say something, anything. He doesn't like Xander's question.

Sugar Water
Sequel to Candy Floss. The whole gang is camping out in the basement, and there is Spike, making Xander want him. This is not a thing that nice boys do. But nice boys really don't know what they are missing.

Deeper Into Movies
Sequel to Sugar Water. Tonight is the night. The night Xander is going to break up with Spike. If only he can convince himself of it.
